This last week, GenLogs released our Asset Locator tool to a limited set of customers. This tool allows the user to search for any asset (a truck, trailer, tanker, etc) and find that asset ‘in the wild’ via GenLogs’ nationwide sensor network. Users can also set alerts on assets, and an alert will be sent directly to their email inbox when the asset they are searching for is spotted by our vast network of HD cameras.
Already, the Asset Locator tool has been used by customers to find over 100 missing trailers — including multiple cases of unauthorized use and theft. The tool is also being used to support a federal law enforcement investigation into an organized crime syndicate stealing assets in a major metropolitan area. We are spending millions of dollars building our proprietary sensor network and the results are starting to pay off!
Twice last week, we were doing live demos and customers inevitably asked us to search for a specific asset or USDOT number. Such requests are always a bit nerve-wracking, as you never know what will happen in the moment. In the first case, a Top 10 freight brokerage asked us to find a specific trailer. Seconds later, they were staring at an image of that trailer with all the details extracted about the time, location, and carrier pulling the trailer. There were audible gasps on the call — following by ear-to-ear smiles as we scrolled through images of three different camera views of the truck-trailer pairing.
Then there was the CEO of a trucking company that asked us to search for his own USDOT. Upon hitting ‘search’ he was greeting with 461 times that GenLogs had spotted his power units over the last week. He was shocked to see the clarity of the images and the level of detail that we could collect — to include the cab numbers and VINs. “Wow, you saw truck 190 all the way in Bakersfield, California?” he remarked in amazement.
Then you could see the wheels turning in his head as he thought of the implications. “Wait…” he stammered, “if you saw truck 190 in Bakersfield, again in Albuquerque, and then finally near Dallas, you would essentially know that lane…” His eyes narrowed as he further grasped the magnitude of what he just witnessed. “…and if you are able to do that for all my trucks, then you know all of my lanes…” Yes yes, almost there. “…and if you can do that with my trucks, then you can do that with ALL trucks on the roads. And at that point, you know every carriers’ lanes.”
👆🏼 That. That right there. That is why we decided to release Asset Locator early ahead of our Freight Intelligence platform release later this month.
Asset Locator is a wonderful standalone product that is already helping dozens of Asset Managers and Trailer Utilization Analysts at asset-based carriers and brokerages. But more importantly, Asset Locator is the proof point for what is coming next. Asset Locator is heralding the arrival of the Freight Intelligence platform. Seeing is believing — and once a customer sees with their own eyes that GenLogs is truly collecting all truck and equipment data on the roads, then the promise of the Freight Intelligence platform suddenly becomes very real, tangible…and powerful.
One month from today, a select few customers will receive the Freight Intelligence platform. Not only will they be able to unveil all ‘dark capacity’ of carriers on the roads, but they will be able to illuminate all shippers from coast-to-coast and be able to see their current trucking lanes. This data isn’t a patchwork of guesses — this data is verified-by-video proof points that a truck and trailer were at a specific time and place. This data isn’t a small subset of carriers on the road — this data unveils ALL carriers that are on the roads, to include specific equipment types down to the smallest niches.
The Asset Locator is unbelievably powerful. But just wait until you see the Freight Intelligence platform…
